Some common divorce mistakes to avoid

Divorces in Texas are never easy, but they can be a little less complicated if spouses avoid some of the most common mistakes. One that so many people make when their marriage is coming to an end is choosing a method that is not appropriate. If two spouses are able to communicate with each other, negotiation, mediation or collaborative law may be a much more efficient process than litigation.

Divorcing couple argues over 5 frozen embryos

Texas residents might have heard about a divorce case in California in which the estranged spouses are arguing over what happens to the five embryos that they froze during their marriage. The San Francisco Superior Court case will determine whether the agreement that the couple, who were married for five years, signed should be upheld.

Drugs and alcohol and child custody

Texas parents who might be undergoing a separation or divorce and are facing child custody issues might be interested in knowing how struggles with drug and alcohol addiction, as well as others such as spousal abuse or lack of child support payment, might affect how custody is awarded. Many parents might think that these types of issues might automatically make it impossible for a parent to receive custody. However, this is not necessarily true.
